Thinking about having a cosmetic procedure done to rewind time around your eyes? At Sunrise Oral and Facial Surgery, our oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. King Kim, is here to work with you to help you get the look you want. We understand that any kind of surgery is a serious consideration, and we want to ensure that you feel comfortable and knowledgeable about your procedure every step of the way. Let’s take a look at some of the most common types of eye rejuvenation procedures.

Eye Lift

Smiling, frowning, and laughing can all show up in the delicate skin around the eyes. There’s nothing wrong with fine lines, but if you’d like to restore your skin to a more youthful look, there are several procedures that can help. Blepharoplasty, also known as an eye lift, is a common procedure for women who want to tighten the skin around their eyes. Many women choose a combination eye lift, which combines upper and lower blepharoplasty procedures into one surgery. This can be a great fit for someone who wants to create a substantial difference in the skin around their eyes in minimal time.

An upper blepharoplasty targets the skin just above the eyelid that can create a hooded look. If you think that an upper blepharoplasty may be a good fit for you, you’ll meet with our surgeon and discuss your desired look. Some women prefer a lower blepharoplasty, which targets fat, or bags, underneath the eyes. Bags underneath the eyes can produce a tired look, even though, for many people, bags have nothing to do with how much sleep you got the night before.

In a lower blepharoplasty, a small incision is made in the eyelid. Fat is then removed, creating a smooth, tightened look where the bag used to be. As patients get older (over 40 years of age), this operation may become more involved. Fat is removed and excess skin can be removed or tightened through a small incision along the lash line. If a lower blepharoplasty is a good fit for the look you want, our surgeon will work with you to decide exactly what procedure makes the most sense for your needs.

Brow Lift

A brow lift is another option for women who want a more youthful look around the eyes. No matter how effective an eye lift may be, for some women, sagging brows can create perpetual shadows over the eyes, rendering the effects of the eye lift less visible. A brow lift can be combined with an upper, lower, or combination blepharoplasty surgery. This procedure targets the puffy, swollen look around the brows that can make your face look a bit more sagged. A brow lift works to correct and highlight the natural arch in your brow bone, which makes clients look more youthful and brighter.

Eye Rejuvenation At Sunrise Facial Oral Surgery

If you’re new to the world of cosmetic, facial, and oral surgery, it’s normal that you may be unsure of what to expect. When you set up your first consultation, you’ll meet with our surgeon to talk about what changes you’d like to see. From there, he will devise a unique surgical plan to meet your needs.

You’ll be evaluated for any conditions that could interfere with your surgery, and your surgeon will talk to you if any concerns need to be addressed before the day of your procedure. On the day of your procedure, you’ll undergo low-level anesthesia and incisions will be small. For most people, recovery is complete within two weeks, and there are no remaining visible scars after the incisions heal.
