The jaw bones, like the rest of the bones in our body, continue to change as we age. In some cases, unusual bumps begin to develop on the jawbones which interfere with the fit of removable dentures. These growths are fairly normal; however, they sometimes require removal to restore function to the mouth and improve the fit of prosthetic dental appliances like dentures.
