Whether you are having oral surgery or facial cosmetic surgery, choosing a surgeon is the most important step. Typically, you are trusting the advice of your provider or friend to refer you to a surgeon they trust. When I meet with patients for facial consultations, they often ask, “How do I know which procedure is right for me?  How do I know I am getting my money’s worth?”

These are great questions for those seeking facial cosmetic surgery or other cosmetic procedures. Facial rejuvenation has taken center stage throughout the world and cosmetic and pharmaceutical companies have all jumped on the bandwagon to try and make a buck. Some of it works well, some of it works a little, and some are down-right gimmicks that take advantage of people to chase the wallet. It’s the unfortunate reality of using great photography and good marketing to fool people into buying worthless products that look and smell nice but don’t do a darn thing. Beware of these scams. We are also seeing an increase in social media influencers, even doctors, participating in endorsement of useless products that promise you a youthful result but simply do not deliver.

The best way to avoid wasting money on these commercial products and get effective results is to do your research and visit a facial cosmetic surgeon. A consultation fee is mostly nominal and oftentimes this fee is applied to a facial cosmetic service. Your surgeon will give you an expert opinion on what you need and what will work. An honest surgeon will not perform a surgery you don’t need. Sometimes, a little dab will do ya, and injectables such as Botox or fillers will be enough. Sometimes, a reliable and proven skin care regimen is sufficient. But other times, these regimens don’t provide the satisfaction they once did, and rhytidectomy may the next step to help you to reach your goals. It truly depends on what you’re looking for and what your budget is. The decision is yours. Rather, save your money over a period of time until you are financially ready for a facelift that will give you a beautiful, more permanent result.

You should always do your research before choosing the procedure that is right for you. I have been lucky to have so many patients agree to share their results. Visit this link to see their results.
