September is National Gum Care Month ! While this month has a slew of national celebrations, gum care is one we feel is worth mentioning! For many obvious reasons, taking care of your gums is important! (click here for a little chuckle) We’ll be sharing information throughout the month to educate our community about gum care, gum disease (like gingivitis & periodontitis) and overall gum health!
Here are some signs you may be having issues with your gums:
- Gums feel tender when you brush
- Gums are bleeding when you brush
- Gums appear swollen or red
- Receding gums (pulling away from teeth)
When taking care of your gums, don’t be too aggressive! What’s important is that you have a consistent routine! You know the drill (yes, pun intended ) ; brush & floss twice a day and make oral/dental hygiene a priority! What does your gum care routine look like?
Look for our upcoming posts on gum disease prevention and some interesting facts you may not have known! If it’s been a while since you’ve been in, make sure you give us a call to schedule an appointment!
