Dr. King Kim’s journey to oral surgery and facial cosmetic surgery has spanned the United States and enabled him to travel the world to provide complete specialized surgical care to many communities. He earned a Bachelor of Psychology from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where he also began his study of medicine. He then attended the University of Pittsburgh where he achieved a D.M.D degree.

In search of continuing his pursuit in the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Kim earned a certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Nova Southeastern University/Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. While in South Florida for his residency, Dr. Kim trained at Memorial Regional Hospital, Baptist Hospital, South Miami Hospital, Broward General Medical Center and Doctors Hospital in South Miami. During his residency, Dr. Kim instilled a passion for facial cosmetic surgery. This led him to complete a fellowship in Facial Cosmetic Surgery at Baptist Golden Triangle Hospital in Columbus, Mississippi.

Dr. Kim is the only doctor in Brevard County to be board certified by both the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and the American Society of Cosmetic Physicians. He is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Kim is also a Board Examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and co-authored a textbook entitled: “Cosmetic Surgery for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon” with his mentor Dr. John Griffin. Dr. Kim has also published numerous journal articles and other textbook chapters within his specialty, and has lectured nationally and internationally.

He has volunteered services in underserved communities in the United States, Central America, and South America. He volunteers once a month here in Brevard County for Brevard Health Alliance and Space Coast Volunteers. He maintains a position as adjunct clinical professor at Nova Southeastern University/Broward General Medical Center’s Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, where he lectures and is involved with teaching facial cosmetic surgery to the residents. Today, Dr. Kim passionately practices facial cosmetic surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Melbourne and Suntree/Rockledge locations of Sunrise Facial and Oral Surgery.

Dr. Kim enjoys spending time with his wife and their two sons. He loves to participate in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, scuba diving, snow skiing, golfing, riding motorcycles, playing piano, and teach his kids skiing and golfing.
